BeagleBoard-xMにICSが来ていたのでビルドしてみた。
手順は基本的に
の通り。
gingerbread2.3.4 DevKit2.1で動かねー、こんちくしょうとなっていたので、sudoなんてしたくないのだけれど、なるべくドキュメント通りに進める事にした。
前提
- BeagleBoard-xMはRev.B。
- 作業はsudoが可能な一般ユーザで行う。
- 作業は該当ユーザのホームディレクトリで行う。
- ビルド環境はUbuntu x86版10.10(EOLなので注意)
Android Development Kitの入手
ドキュメント上ではTI社の「Android Development Kit」を使うことが前提となっている。ICSの場合は「TI_Android_DevKit TI_Android_ICS_4_0_3_DevKit_3_0_0 Product Download Page」から「TI_Android_Utilities.tar.gz」を取得すれば良い。
該当ユーザのホームディレクトリ上で
wget http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_tii/TI_Android_DevKit/TI_Android_ICS_4_0_3_DevKit_3_0_0/exports/TI_Android_Utilities.tar.gz tar zxvf TI_Android_Utilities.tar.gz
を実行。
ちなみにうちの環境では上記ツールを使うとうまく行かないケースがあるので、その場合は手動で行っている。
ビルド環境の構築
下記を実行してUbuntu側の環境を構築する。

repoコマンドの取得
リポジトリ取得のためにrepoコマンドを取得。
mkdir ~/bin PATH=~/bin:$PATH curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
リポジトリの取得
下記を実行して、ソースコード一式を取得。
repo init -u git://gitorious.org/rowboat/manifest.git -m TI-Android-ICS-4.0.3-DevKit-3.0.0.xml repo sync
取得にはかなりの時間が掛かる。取得後はホームディレクトリに「rowboat-android」と言うディレクトリが作成されているはず。
ツールチェインの設定
下記を実行してツールチェインを指定しておく。
export PATH=$HOME/rowboat-android/prebuilt/linux-x86/toolchain/arm-eabi-4.4.3/bin:$PATH
x-loaderのビルド
下記を実行してx-loaderをビルドする。
cd ~/rowboat-android/x-loader make CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi- distclean make CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi- omap3beagle_config make CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi-
次にsignGPを使用してMLOを作成
wget http://beagleboard.googlecode.com/files/signGP
./signGP ./x-load.bin
mv x-load.bin.ift MLO
u-bootのビルド
以下を実行してu-bootをビルドする。
cd ../u-boot make CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi- distclean make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi- omap3_beagle_config make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi-
カーネルのビルド
下記を実行してカーネルをビルドする。
cd ../kernel make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi- distclean make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi- omap3_beagle_android_defconfig make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-eabi- uImage
Android rootfsのビルド
下記を実行してrootfsをビルドする(かなりの時間を要するので注意)。
cd ~/rowboat-android/ make TARGET_PRODUCT=beagleboard OMAPES=5.x -j4
ビルドが終わったらrootfsのtarballを作成しておく。
cd ~/rowboat-android/out/target/product/beagleboard mkdir android_rootfs cp -r root/* android_rootfs cp -r system android_rootfs ../../../../build/tools/mktarball.sh ../../../host/linux-x86/bin/fs_get_stats android_rootfs . rootfs rootfs_.tar.bz2
BOOT用スクリプトの作成
ドキュメントでは「Android Development Kit」に含まれるmkbootscrスクリプトを使用することになっている。
スクリプトの中を見れば分かると思うが、やっていることは
- スクリプトファイルがあればそれを読み込む(ファイル名はboot.cmd固定)
- スクリプトファイルが無ければデフォルト値を採用。
- mkimageコマンドを使用してboot.scrファイルを作成
と単純なのでここは手動で行う。
boot.scrを作成する時に使用するmkimageコマンドは、u-bootをビルドした際に生成されるものを使用すること。でないとAndroidが起動しない。
ちなみに「Android Development Kit」にはmkimageコマンドも付随しているが、u-bootをビルドすれば嫌でも生成されるので、こっちを使うことにする。
まず、
cd ~/rowboat-android/u-boot/tools
を実行し、mkimageコマンドがあるディレクトリに移動。
同じディレクトリ上に下記内容の「boot.script」と言う名称のファイルを作成。

次に
./mkimage -A arm -O linux -T script -C none -a 0 -e 0 -n "BeagleBoard" -d boot.script boot.scr
を実行すると「boot.scr」が作成される。
必要なファイルをまとめる
下記を実行してホームディレクトリ下の「image_folder」ディレクトリにBeagleBoard-xM上でICSを動作させるのに必要なファイルをまとめる。

ICS起動用SDカードの作成
ここまでの作業を行った上で「Android Development Kit」付属のmkmmc-android.shを使用すればICS起動用のSDカードが出来上がるはずなのだが、うちの環境ではうまく動作せず。
VM上のUbuntuで行っているせいなのかなんなのか、いまいち理由は不明。
mkmmc-android.sh自体、複雑な事を行っているわけではないので以下手動で。
ちなみに、うまく動作するのであれば
cd ~/image_folder sudo ./mkmmc-android.sh /dev/sdb MLO u-boot.bin uImage boot.scr rootfs_.tar.bz2
とすれば良いはずだ。
SDカードの準備
「BeagleBoard-xM – Android用SDカードの作成。」を参照してSDカードを準備する。
但し、第2パーティションをフォーマットする際はext4形式でフォーマットする事。
sudo mkfs.ext4 -L rootfs /dev/sdb2
※MLO・u-boot.binのコピーは必要なし。合わせて、コマンド実行の際はsudo経由で行うこと。
ファイルのコピー
boot用ファイルとrootfsを準備したSDカードにコピーする。
まず、image_folderディレクトリに移動
cd ~/image_folder
次に下記を実行してboot用ファイルを第1パーティションにコピーする。
sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt sudo cp ./MLO /mnt/MLO sudo cp ./u-boot.bin /mnt/u-boot.bin sudo cp ./uImage /mnt/uImage sudo cp ./boot.scr /mnt/boot.scr sudo umount /dev/sdb1
次にrootfsを第2パーティションにコピーする。
sudo mount /dev/sdb2 /mnt sudo tar jxvf ./rootfs_.tar.bz2 -C /mnt sudo chmod 755 /mnt sudo umount /dev/sdb2
…
出来上がったSDカードを使用してBeagleBoard-xMを起動すれば、無事にICSが立ち上がるはずだ。
